Bohemia Restaurant is celebrating after hearing the news that it has retained its coveted Michelin star for the twelfth year.
With the highest number of Michelin Star restaurants by population outside of London, Jersey is fast becoming a highlight in the culinary world with many foodie awards and accolades being awarded to the Island’s chefs and restaurants.
The results were announced on 3 October 2016 at the first ever live launch of the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland, which took place at IET London, Savoy Place. The 2017 edition of the guide marks the 20th anniversary of the Bib Gourmand – Michelin’s award for good value and good quality cooking. This year the guide includes more than 140 ‘Bibs’, of which 24 are new.
Bohemia Restaurant’s Head Chef Steve Smith said: “We are thrilled that our passion and commitment has been recognised once again. The whole team has worked day and night over the past year to retain this accolade and I am overjoyed!”
He continued: “Jersey is renowned for its high standard of gourmet dining, and we are proud to play our part in this.”
Visitors to the restaurant can sample Bohemia’s ‘Famous Saturday Lunch’, a three-course set lunch for only £19.95 per person. The set lunch includes lavish dishes such as Winter vegetable salad with tarragon emulsion and pecan brittle; Braised beef cheek with broccoli and pear; and Pedro Ximinez panna cotta with quince and cinnamon.
Steve has created a truly outstanding dining experience with his ingredient and flavour driven tasting menus. Bohemia is the only restaurant in the Channel Islands to be listed in The Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants and is ranked at number 49. Bohemia was recently ranked as the highest scoring restaurant in the Channel Islands in the Good Food Guide 2017 and was also listed in Square Meal's Top 100 Best Restaurants 2016.
