Once upon a time, mannequins were confined to shop windows and high street store displays – however the winter of 2016 has given the life-size dolls a whole new purpose. The Mannequin Challenge has swept across the world and landed with a bang at Lancaster London this December.
The trend began with celebrities and famous faces pressing pause on their daily activities and posting videos of their frozen-in-time shots to social media. Now, the hospitality industry has stepped the trend up a gear. Lancaster London invited a host of staff to participate in its very own Mannequin Challenge by pressing pause on its busy morning check-in scene and videoing the action.
The scene depicts the exciting morning routine that occurs every day at Lancaster London and provides an insightful view into the hotel’s day to day operation. A guest can be seen throwing keys to the valet parking attendant, while managers are busy brainstorming exciting events on the hotel’s plush couches. The video finishes with two members of staff gazing at the screen of a tablet, before it pans in to focus on the tablet’s screen showcasing the magnificent new ‘Royal Lancaster’ exterior.
